Hey,

I was recently perusing my local MedMen, mask on of course. There was a little bit of hustle and bustle in the store, but since the space is about 150 square feet, 4 customers make the store feel busy. I was about to check out and an older man, mid 70’s, a little bit of a grungy, "I was with the band" vibe to him, comes up to me and asks, “Can I tell you something?”

Internally, I think, “Here we go.” Externally, I say, “Sure.” He continues, “I have to tell you one thing and you’ll never see me for the rest of your life….if they don’t tell you you’re magnificent every day, get them out of your life.” He then turned around and got in the checkout line. It sounds made up, I know. I’ve replayed it several times in my head and can confirm that it happened, in this dimension.

My jaw dropped beneath my mask. I mumbled back something like, “Wow, um, thank you, I appreciate that.” That is my eloquence ceiling after a stranger mic drops a life lesson on me in the middle of a MedMen. The best I can do with that advice is share it with you. You’re magnificent. Pass it on.

Fondly,
Rachel aka @heyfreesamples

I love a well designed, shareable quote as much as the next person. But I do think Quotes by Christie does an especially solid job designing and curating these messages. After poking around her site and Instagram page, obnoxiously nodding, smiling and bookmarking many posts, I stumbled across this credit card artwork. Yup, you can literally throw an inspirational quote on your credit card. I wonder if this stops or encourages more purchases? If anyone pursues this, let me know how it goes.
