As in, it’s been 2 years. Good work.
I’m really embracing the whole “I blogged in college and I’ll take that with me wherever I go, no matter what, no matter how busy I get.” Oopsies. The last 2 years just happened and the last thing I wrote about was Fantasy Football.*
*shivers down spine
Let’s take a second to visit what happened in the past two years that led to this “break” and what subsequently happened to make this “triumphant” return.
“From 2015 to Right Now” A Memoir by HeyFreeSamples. Chapter 1.
I’ve been busier than Russia during the 2016 elections. Job change, relationship change, location change, global climate change, etc. “A chunk of life changes have happened” is really what I’m trying to drive home here. I’ve traveled to London, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma, San Diego, Boston, Portland (Oregon…sorry Maine), Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Temecula, Austin (Texas…sorry again Maine?), Montauk and for those of you who know me this may come as a surprise – I even made it to Silverlake. TWICE.
Travel is important to me, as are the people I’ve traveled with/or met along the way. I’m also back in school now and yes, you better believe I spent some TIME selecting the appropriate glue stick, pencil case and three-ring binder. Unfortunately, Lisa Frank products aren’t as readily available as you’d think.
The past two years have been filled with a lot of personal discovery, professional development and an overall shift in attitude that I can eloquently sum up as… “I’m happiest when I’m creating stuff.”
Creating relationships. Creating ideas. Creating common threads between the two. Creating stories and videos. Creating plans. Creating goals. Creating (and refreshing) this HeyFreeSamples blog.
So that’s where I’ve been, and those are the things I’ve always cared about – but were overdue for some recognition. Ok, enough about me, am I right? Let’s get back to posts about Justin Bieber, TSA pre-check, the return of TRL, left hand turns onto four lane highways with Waze and more. Stay tuned.
